Contraindications for Treatments

General Health and Medical Conditions
Your overall health plays a key role in determining the safety and effectiveness of our treatments. Please consult your physician if any of the following apply:
- Pregnancy: Certain treatments, such as PEMF or energy-based therapies, may require modifications or approval from your physician.
- Pacemaker or Electronic Implants: Contraindicated for treatments involving electromagnetic fields, biofeedback, or electrical stimulation.
- Severe Cardiovascular Conditions: Includes recent heart attack, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or severe arrhythmias.
- Epilepsy or Seizure Disorders: Avoid treatments like light therapy, PEMF, and sound therapy.
- Blood Disorders: Conditions like hemophilia or clotting disorders may pose risks for treatments like Marma Detox or waxing.
- Diabetes: Increased risk of infection with waxing, electrolysis, or massage.
- Autoimmune Disorders: Conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis may require physician consultation.
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia: Discuss your tolerance for energy or physical therapies with our team.
Skin Conditions and Sensitivities
We tailor our treatments to suit your skin’s needs, but the following conditions may require adjustments:
- Photosensitivity: Avoid light-based therapies if caused by medications or medical conditions.
- Recent Sunburn or Sun Exposure: Wait 24-48 hours before waxing, laser hair reduction, or similar treatments.
- Active Skin Infections: Includes conditions like herpes, impetigo, or fungal infections.
- Open Wounds or Cuts: Avoid treatments in the affected area until fully healed.
- Active Acne or Rosacea: Some therapies may need to be modified to reduce irritation.
- Recent Chemical Peels or Retinoid Use: Avoid waxing, laser treatments, or intense skincare services for at least 1-2 weeks.
- Recent Tattoos: Laser or light-based therapies should not be performed over tattooed areas.
Cosmetic and Dermatological Treatments
If you’ve recently undergone a cosmetic procedure, wait times are necessary to ensure your skin’s safety:
- Botox, Fillers, or Injectables: Wait a minimum of 2 weeks before scheduling other treatments like laser or massages.
- Chemical Peels or Micro-Needling: Time varies based on the intensity of the procedure; consult with our specialists.
- Accutane Use: Discontinue use for at least 6 months before undergoing waxing or other skin treatments.
- Retinol or Hydroquinone Products: Stop use 1 week prior to waxing or skincare services.
Musculoskeletal and Physical Conditions
Certain physical conditions may limit treatment options or require physician approval:
- Osteoporosis: Massage and Migun Bed Therapy may pose risks of fractures.
- Recent Injuries, Fractures, or Surgeries: Physician approval is required for massage, PEMF, or TBM therapies.
- Varicose Veins or Phlebitis: Avoid waxing or massage in affected areas.
Neurological and Psychological Conditions
We strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for all clients. Please let us know if any of the following apply:
- Photosensitive Epilepsy: Contraindicated for light therapy or laser treatments.
- PTSD or Severe Anxiety: Sound therapy or energy-based treatments may require adjustments to ensure your comfort.
- Claustrophobia: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and enclosed light therapy chambers may not be suitable.
- Neuromuscular Disorders: Physician consultation required for treatments like TriLift, PEMF, or electrolysis.
Medication Use
Certain medications can increase sensitivity or pose risks during treatment:
- Blood Thinners: Contraindicated for waxing, Marma Detox, and treatments with a risk of bruising.
- Photosensitive Medications: Includes doxycycline and similar drugs; avoid light-based therapies.
- Antibiotics: Increased skin sensitivity during treatment; avoid waxing or facials.
- Steroids or Immunosuppressive Drugs: Physician approval required for energy or laser-based therapies.
Infectious and Contagious Conditions
To protect the health of all our clients and staff, please avoid treatments if you:
- Have Active Contagious Diseases: Includes impetigo, ringworm, or other infections.
- Have a Fever or Viral Infection: Refrain from massage, facials, or similar services until fully recovered.
- Have Thrombosis or Clotting Disorders: Contraindicated for massage or energy therapies.
Electromagnetic and Energy-Based Treatments
Energy-based therapies require caution under the following conditions:
- Metal Implants: Avoid treatments like PEMF if implants are near the treatment area.
- Migraine Disorders: Light-based therapies may exacerbate symptoms in sensitive individuals.
- Radiofrequency Sensitivity: Rare but may contraindicate frequency-based therapies like RIFE.
Specialized Considerations by Treatment
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT): Avoid with ear or sinus infections, COPD, or respiratory conditions.
- Ayurvedic Treatments: Consult for allergies to ingredients like turmeric or sesame oil.
- Energetic Systems Maintenance (ESM): Avoid if you’ve had recent chiropractic adjustments.
